The prestigious Human Resources Excellence in Research Award was awarded to Jagiellonian University by the European Commission on 6 December 2017.
The award is one of the actions undertaken by the European Commission in the framework of the European Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R), which aims to create an attractive and open labor market for researchers in the European Union.
It is bestowed to institutions that implement a strategy for enhancing the attractiveness of working conditions and career development of researchers, adhering to the principles and guidelines of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
Institutions that receive the award commit to respecting the principles of the Charter and the Code, continuously improving their practices and are subject to regular evaluation by experts appointed by the European Commission. In August 2023. The University submitted a report on the implementation of the HRS4R strategy to the European Commission. It is currently awaiting a monitoring visit by EC experts for a mid-term evaluation.
In February 2024, the Jagiellonian University joined the Europe-wide network EURAXESS – Researchers in Motion, which supports international mobility and career development of researchers.
